 2012 is the day when a solar storm hits Earth, you cant stop this. The research facilities are warning us while your belief "Everything is okay" will die.
 Communication satellites will go offline and fry, phones and trade routs won't work, countries will start to starve. Its a chain reaction.

You mean a physicist. A physician is not qualified to know a thing about cosmology / astronomy considering their education focuses on biology.

 I try not to chose sides on who is right and who is wrong simply because you cant tell the future. Only the experts who run our world know what is going to happen by calculating the distance, speed, and trajectory of the object. Plus the directions.
