nope. but when it comes to photography, you don't want to lose data if you're planning on printing. for internet stuff whatever i guess. but talk to any photographer: shoot in raw.
Yeah, I have a friend who's a professional wedding photographer. He shoots in raw but then converts to JPG to actually do anything with the pictures.
