Animal cruelty won't have you in the slammer for that short of a time period.  Depending how long your dad abused your dog, he can have multiple years.

FYI:  he complains our dogs crap in our house, and says that they are disgusting beings.. I told my dad all the things humans did, and asked him if they think the same of us.  My mom's poodle is a small house dog, but she is never inside.  He makes my mom cry some nights because of how mean he is to her.  My mom does everything for my dad, dinner, lunch, everything.  And he repays her in tormenting her "baby", she had her for eight years and is the only girl before we got hunter
