They've been talking about a 4th season, but as far as I know, that's what the 4 movies were.

Futurama was more trying to be newer than the simpsons.

I really don't like the simpsons anymore, though.

I need to start watching this show more. I got tired of the Simpsons because it stopped being funny and the whole plot change thing got old. For example: the begging of the show is about a new car, but it breaks down and has to be fixed. While its getting fixed they encounter a familer face and the rest of the episode is about that person.

Thats not really the issue, the issue is that they lost their witt. The Simpsons no longer has hidden messages, just annoying sarcastic comments. Sarcasm isn't witty.
