Reminds me of a story my grandpa told me.

He and his brother learned at school about how if you put a stick on a power line the stick will melt or something like that, so during recess they tried it and ended up shorting out the power.

I knew I shouldn't of used the wrong crystal for that socket...

Also, the reason the electrical fire didn't keep going is because power lines are designed to short circuit at any fault.
