Hexed means it doesn't replace the original, like say you have a hexed version of the 'Clean Headcrab' texture, then you can use the headcrab with no blood on it and the original headcrab with blood on it at the same time, but if it isn't hexed, it will overwrite the original and you can only use the headcrab with no blood on it
