Author Topic: I want to get started on add-ons... (particularly weapons or vehicles)  (Read 895 times)

 I'm pretty confused here, I don't know what scripting language you have to use, or anything. Please help out!

For modeling, if you're looking for an easy, free modeling program, I suggest Wings3D. It doesn't have a DTS Exporter, but you can export to OBJ which can be imported by pretty much everything else that has a DTS Exporter.


I'm using milkshape, is that a good one to start out with? I want one that is great for beginners. I don't care about intermediate stuff... :3

You don't need to know a ounce of C++ to script for torque.
I barely know how to script, but even I know this.

I suggest you read and study other scripts.

For beginning, I suggest you take the addon Weapon_gun and replace the model and rename the script.
Then, you add custom projectile, CI, explosion emitter, a diffrent script and stuff like that.

I'll start with the above.
