It's basically a loving insane religion designed as a scam. The church of scientology requires large payments to join as well as immense lifestyle changes from its followers and is designed so that once the religion has a hold on you, you're probably not changing religion anytime soon. Additionally, the church has a reputation for requesting services and not paying for them.

 Its a mind control bandwagon, you get on and don't come off. Its a cult, they use fear and power to dominate their followers.
 If you get off, then the church will bother you, post signs up saying your a child enthusiast. Making stuff conspiracies about you.

L. Ron Hubbard was a science fiction writer who decided his stories were good enough to be peddled around to the masses as dogmatic truth.  They use intimidation tactics to keep people from leaving, and do all sorts of nasty things, almost on the same level of nastiness as Mormonism.  They try to confuse people of other religions into thinking they believe the same things, when they don't.  It's pretty much designed from the ground up to be a scam, and you can really tell by looking at it's structure.

Therefore, I'm for Chanology. By the way, one way of protesting is covering your self in petroleum jelly, toenails, and pubic hair, then run though one of their "churches" and rub yourself on everything. So I've heard.
