I get countless people coming to my server who want to do some form of Role Play, and it bugs the hell out of me. There's always someone who has to start asking "Can I live with you?" or "Can I work for you?", or the king of all weird questions, "Can I be your pet?" -_- They also seem to enjoy making DM RPGs, where they start a whole system of fake teams, and a crappy zombie apocalypse plot to go along with it. Apparently this is fun for some people.

I just don't understand this fad. This is Blockland, the game where you build stuff. Not Blockland, that bad imitation of the Sims. I even get people like that when I boldy write "NO RP!" in my server name. ._.'

What's your opinion on the whole Role Playing, first person shooting, fad of doing things other than building on Blockland?

Someone came to my server asking to have an 'Alien Tentacle Family RP'. Don't ask me what that means, he was banned within a few seconds.

I have the opposite of this problem. People want to build random things in an RP server.

I will name it "Hectic's TDM" and people join in going like, Hey, can I build? and all that crap.

We just need people to understand what the servers about .__.

Family RP
Jail RP
School RP

Are not RPs.
Family RPs involve you walking around. Usually you have jets, there is spam everywhere, and people are chat spamming about someone spamming events.

Jail RPs are fun, but should be called Jail Escape instead. No one RPs, they just go to the toilet, click, and somehow get a rocket launcher. When they die, they complain about having 1 life. Then there are the "freekillers" who kill prisoners for no reason which makes it suck x5 more.

School RPs can be fun if done correctly. Most of the time the school is on a 64x baseplate and has tons of empty space with nothing in it. The only good one I found was lilrobot's, since it wasn't empty and was semi organized.

There are fun ones where you actually roleplay, such as Tezuni's Jail RP. Then there are the ones where the people that come on think that it is a huge TDM where you follow strict rules on when to kill the prisoners, such as...well mine.

The freekillers, or the noobs that are mental or just want to mix up trouble, are the biggest problems. (Damn those people)

This type of RP should be for those good admins who don't tele to the weps, an freekillers when their time comes, and don't go afk for the whole time not noticing the masses of freekillers going by and doing stuff.

School RPs, well bleh. I used to go to them until I got pretty bored and looked for a City RPG.

Family RPs are just the worst servers you can find on BL, well that and freebuilds. City RPG is like this but more organized and not like "Can I be your pet?"

I don't even warn anymore. If you attempt to RP on my server i'll ban, times varry based on how you try to RP EG. "CN I BE DAWG??????????????????" equals perma ban. "Can I be the ships captain?" means 3 minute ban. always with the message, "Do you see RP in the server name?"
