Author Topic: Add-on Making Tools  (Read 2624 times)

I know how to download the tools, but do I extract or save, where do I put them? (not ingame tools, but the ones that help you make add-ons)

What "tools" are you using? The website of the program you are using should have instructions on what to do with the files.

all you need to make addons is notepad, it comes with windows, you don't extract it as far as i know

Wow, I've searched, and yet nobody as I can see has the answer. Let me give more clear stuff. #1 - I open Blockland website. #2 - Click on download. #3 - Scroll to bottom of page (not much to scroll). The very bottom box is named 'Tools' with the 4 add-on/map making downloads. How do I download them besides clicking on them? Do I 'Save' or 'Extrcat' and where too? I'd be surprised if you still don't understand what I'm talking about.

Which one are you trying to download?

Why do you need 3 DTS exporters for 3 different programs? Will you be modeling in all of them?

Wait, they're different? If so then someone tell me which one is the best. That means I want to download the first one (map 2 dif) and the one that's best, not all four.

Milkshape costs money but its interface is easy to use.
Blender is more complex, but it's free.
I'm not sure about the 3D studio one but it might be worth it to look into it.

Also, I hope you realize all of the above programs (excluding map 2 dif) are for modeling, and if you were planning on scripting then you are headed down the wrong path.

I'm planning to make add-ons, maps, and sure, why not script some stuff.

for scripting, use notepad

for scripting, use notepad
Thanks, now I need information on the other two (mostly downloading).

I'll use blender, and look at 3D studio to see if I like it. I'm still looking on how to download, not much more information to give.
