Author Topic: is Drinking Rubbing Alcohol Bad?  (Read 4699 times)

Now I gotta find that parody of Heavy Rain again. But I can't find it. D:

i dont think its technically any more dangerous then any drinking alcohol.
might get drunk a little faster, and need to be careful of alcohol poisoning sooner.

"If the rubbing alcohol contains methanol, blindness or death may occur as a result of its consumption."

Ethanol? I've never heard of Methanol

Ethanol? I've never heard of Methanol
Its a type of chemical..

Your fine. That is such a minuscule amount that it most likely wont do you any harm.

just because you've never heard of it doesn't mean it does not exist.

please use google.

it's dangerous

Industrial alcohols are ethanols. They are taxed a lot less than recreational alcohol, so are a lot cheaper. For this reason, they need to be mixed with methanol to make ingesting dangerous.

Anyway, you're either going to die or go blind. There's no way you will make it out of this lightly.

Tom

My science teacher said they make the burner fuel so it makes you sick if you drink it, so they probably do the same thing with rubbing alcohol.

Don't scare the OP too much, drinking something is different then accidentally swallowing a little.

Don't scare the OP too much, drinking something is different then actually swallowing a little.
:P

You'll probably be fine. If you start to convulse, seize, involuntarily defecate, or vomit blood, I would try calling your doctor, see what he says.
