Author Topic: Oldest quote ever?  (Read 2314 times)

Look at the date of that quote! I changed the date to 0000000000, and I think that was when the first quote has posted on the BL fourms.

you're loving stupid.

Yep, BL forums have been around since before the internet.

You couldn't find the oldest because the forum has been wiped quite a few times.

Lol. Okay. Nvm. You guys can go home now.

No, there is rhyme and reason to this. That time there is, oddly enough, six hours before Unix time started. Unix time, which is a form of time counting that was started on January 1st 1970 at midnight is what computers use to keep time.

It's a little odd though that the BL forum's time starts six hours before Unix time started.

Edit: The only thing I could think of that would cause the discrepancy is time zones, but I thought that most servers either went off Unix time or GMT/UTC.

It would've been funnier if you had the date as 1949, because George Orwell wrote Nineteen Eighty Four in 1949 and then promptly died the following year.
