Badspot and others avoided this pothole by printing their names into secret spots in the creations they made. This was very succesful when the newbies came around. I suggest also putting your building in the gallery once it is finished, BEFORE hosting a server.
Please take this advice.

I do this in every build, if someone JUST happened to steal something and they didn't know where the hidden prints were, you could prove it's yours.
