Faces/Decals/Prints self illuminate

Anyone else wonder why they do, and if there's a way to stop them from doing that?
Because it's odd if you're in a very dark map, and you can see someones neon blond hair.

I personally think it just makes things weird, though I don't know if anyone else is bugged with this.

isn't that part of the lighting, For example it in destruct it is completley dark until you build a brick.

No it's still completely dark

Not exactly sure why but there isn't any way around it.
