Author Topic: PC vs MAC the final showdown. (I think the war's over)  (Read 28900 times)

There is no such thing as a 3rd party Mac. Macs are made one way and one way only. They all work the same. PCs can vary. Different companies. You can make your own. You can get a crappy one. You can get an awesome one.

PC WINS
XP ROCKS
NETBOOKS RULE

Believe it or not, it's possible for computers to malfunction without an incompetent user! My mom is fine on a computer, and her HP costed 1000 dollars. if that won't buy you a decent computer, then Macs are hardly more expensive. My computer costed only 400 or so dollars more than hers -and still has better specs-, not 2000 (sorry to disappoint, general nick)
I bought an Inspiron 518 a year ago from Dell and I've had so few problems with it that nothing jumps to mind. I can't tell you from the top of my head any catastrophic problems I've had.

Also, believe it or not, you can't judge an entire set of things off of one point of data. It'd be like rolling a dice, getting a six, and saying that every time you roll a dice you must get a six because that is what you got the first time.

Maybe you should've done more research on the computer you were about to buy.

i did.

got a mac c:

To be fair, I have been more or less traumatized by PCs because my first PC was like 6 years old and it was so damn awful. If I had to use a PC, I wouldn't mind.

However, I don't see where you're getting this idea that I'm making a statement about all PCs because of that one incident. I simply said what had happened in my experience, I stated facts. I never said all PCs would be as problematic as my mother's, and that all macs will never have any problems.

How old are you? 14 maybe? That's 8 years of improvements by Microsoft... It's like people complaining that the first cellphones sucked. No stuff, there were no innovations quite yet. :/

Apple is really just a sucker for looks. I bought my PC laptop for $350 and it works fine. My friend got his Mac laptop for a mere 1000 dollars! Cheap! And it doesn't work with any upgrades and even crashes (unlike mine). I have never had any viruses. You only get viruses if you're the kind of person stupid enough to click pictures that say "FREE research NO REALLY" on the sides of web pages. Like Carly.

Honestly, I'd only use a Mac if you travel around a lot and are too boring to use games of any sort.

Games it (macs) has that I find fun:

AoM
JK3:JA
Starcraft
Sims
Legion Arena
Spore (It's fun, but got sorta boring)

13, and it's been 7 years since that computer was made. To be honest, I could convert to windows without much trouble.

macs are not good for gaming. during the summer I'm going to fire up boot camp and make a windows partition for games.

i'm still very sad my mac has no AA override function for my graphics card.

I'm getting a windows laptop for Graduation.

Mainly for research gaming.

You can do all of that on a PC. Don't forget that Windows has the only stable version of Steam, so you can't play many great games on a Mac crash-free. Proof? My friend tried Steam on his Mac. It froze up every time you left a chat, and the join a game through chat feature also freezes him. He bought his Mac 1 month ago.

And the mice/trackpads on Macs are generally terrible. Their trackpad only allows you to do certain clicks at a time. First person shooters tend to require you to right-click and use the scrollwheel alongside left-clicking. Have fun doing that with Mac-only equipment.

macs cant shoot a red portal

Tom

Macs can run PC games WITHOUT emulation.

There's always hackintosh.

What the hell are you talking about?

it's a free utility that comes built in on most macs, you have no idea what you're talking about.
Whats that? Can't hear you over the sound of the thought in my head saying "minus 10 dollars makes no difference".

macs cant right click
