Author Topic: Film maturity rating  (Read 1789 times)

I don't mean rating as like blah/5, I liked it/not. I mean like G, PG, PG13, R, NC17, X

Okay, so in the PG13-rated movie Serenity, there's lots of fighting, and Mal says forget once. What decides that PG13 rating?

And in the G-rated Sword in the Stone movie, there's a minor sword fight. Which is violence, right?

Another thing: How many movies do you know that are rated X? The only one I've heard of is Machete.

I think if they say forget only once it's PG-13.

NC17? X?!

*sigh* have to take a trip to wikipedia now -_-

I wonder if there's anything worse than X...

Y?
Z?

I would assume XXX but that's just me.

Why are the last three letters of the alphabet portrayed as bad?

X is the same as NC-17 I think.

No, X is the worst. X means that only adults can see it and contains large amounts of nudity.

NC-17 is behind X, with nudity and strong language.

Anyway, forget is allowed to be in PG-13 movies, but it cannot be prominent, and if it is, has to be said quickly I believe.

In a G movie, they say damn a ton of times and had violence in it...

I think if they say forget only once it's PG-13.

Yeah, if forget is said like, once it's fine.  But saying things like "You forgetin' bitch!" "forget you!" multiple times aren't permitted.  Freedom Writers is a good example, it uses forget once, it's not fast, it's still PG-13 (I think).

What about Stealth? That movie said 'forget' multiple times and it was still PG-13.

That doesn't sound right. Proof?

if i was the rating system people i would lower rating by 1
