They do not have the right to tell us what we have to spend our money on, aside from taxes

it comes from taxes. your logic is broken

One of my really conservative friends said that health care is probably worse then 9/11.

It is free for no one, it hurts everyone. People without it, loose money forcefully to have it.

I'm working my ass off to be an electrical engineer.  I'm not rich or anything, I need to buy myself some transportation and pay all my college bills.  How the forget am I supposed to afford healthcare in a couple years?  I'll be paying off loans for quite a while.  I need this healthcare, and so do many others.  When you tots get into the real world, you'll appreciate this bill.

It doesn't matter how hard they are really working. They are in poverty, their employer gets punished.

People will abuse free insurance.

How do you abuse free insurance?

Get sick a lot?

Rex, why must you always fight with everyone?

Because when people believe things that are simply false and don't support things that actually help them, I feel they should be informed.

He's saying that the state of health care currently outweighs terrorism that resulted in hundreds dead and set the gears of war in motion.

Ok, do we get a raise in the amount of money we get because of the increase we will most likely be experiencing?

Taxes aren't being raised unless you make more than 200k a year.

to have family coverage, a person's 2-week paycheck could be docked anywhere from 200-400 dollars. that can be almost half a paycheck for the average American.

raising taxes now may instead take a whole extra 20-30 bucks off the 2-week paycheck.

I recommend looking at my earlier post, as this is easily refuted. The bill lowers premiums and and places regulations on the industry specifically to lower the cost of coverage while expanding it to the rest of the public. And I honestly believe that suffering a disease such as cancer or MS without treatment is much worse than lowered health care premiums.
