Look at heart disease in the 1960's, then look at hear disease in 2010. What happened?

the definition of "disease" changed.
now it means a drug company can legally sell drugs for any obscure symptoms.
thus why everything is a disease now.

fake diseases;
restless leg syndrome (just diabetes),
acid reflux (just heartburn)
migraine (just headaches)

heart disease, diabetes, and MOST cancers are all effects of being overweight.
but there is no money in telling people to eat less and work out.

so you "create" a fancy new name for a symptom and make it a disease, then you can sell drugs for symptoms but not cures.
its just a money game.

RLS and diabetes are unrelated.
Acid reflux disease is recurring. There are many causes to it, but food isn't always what instigates it.
Migraines aren't even qualified as a disease anyway. They're just chronic severe headaches.

I'm not saying there's no truth to what you're saying, just use better examples if you want to make your point.

ANYTHING that they could give a subscription med for is a legal disease. that's the point.

they will take common crap and MAKE them into diseases just so they can sell drugs for them.
its all a scam. in most all medical cases, its better to take no drugs at all.

So what's wrong with taking a medication that will help treat something that is degrading your quality of life?

most meds dont treat anything.
those things i listed are symptoms of other diseases. hiding them dont cure the problem.
that's the scam of the drug companies, are you missing the point completely?

the ones i listed, any doctor will set you up for a lifetime of drugs that will only hide the problem. when the ACTUAL cures require no drugs at all.

you could eat less stuff and jog every other day. the "cure" doctors will never push on you.
or you can take insulin, and permanently create a dependent on your own body so that your pancreas refuses to make its own, and there is no turning back at all.
because there is money for someone to be made there.

Acid Reflux definitely isn't just heartburn, my dad has it pretty bad and he is kinda like you believing medicine is bad but every time he stops taking his medicine for acid reflux he almost dies so he has to go back on it. There is truth to your idea that they will give you a prescription for anything, but the ones you listed are pretty off.

the exact definition of acid reflux disease, is heartburn twice a week or more.
in the heartburn details of course.
http://www.webmd.com/heartburn-gerd/guide/what-is-acid-reflux-disease
so yeah, its the same thing.

once wouldn't be a disease. but if things happen more often, you can get drugs for them. thus disease.

--------------------------
a drug for any random symptom will be made. but no one can patent it and earn on it till your allowed to sell it.
so then you take that symptom and make it into a legal disease by adding the qualification (often) to it.

then that same drug company will make all sorts of commercials convincing the average idiot that they are always dieing from things.
so instead of your dad not eating spicy food, dealing with his stress, or losing weight. (all cures of heartburn and acid reflux) he will indefinitely pay for pills instead.

The quacks that believe in natural healing are even worse than the FDAs medicine, one "expert" even said that acid reflux was caused by not too much acid but not enough acid, causing your body to make it's own acid, my dad went on a diet with high acidic foods and lasted a week in terrible pain until he had to quit.

most meds dont treat anything. Says who, you? Are you a doctor?

those things i listed are symptoms of other diseases. hiding them dont cure the problem. If you have a disease that's causing those symptoms, medication will repress those symptoms while your body fights off the disease. That's exactly what a disease is, a condition that will affect you until it is cured. The negative effects are what makes diseases so bad. Do you expect people to just bite their lip and suffer?

that's the scam of the drug companies, are you missing the point completely? Drug companies don't diagnose conditions, doctors do. That doctor won't make any more money by lying to you about what you need to help you.

the ones i listed, any doctor will set you up for a lifetime of drugs that will only hide the problem. when the ACTUAL cures require no drugs at all. What you seem to be forgetting is a lot of diseases have no cure, what are people supposed to do about it once they have an incurable condition?

you could eat less stuff and jog every other day. the "cure" doctors will never push on you. Yeah, a doctor would never even think of telling you to live a healthy lifestyle. I mean, who does that? Eating right, pfft, what do doctors know about that? They didn't got to med school or anything.

or you can take insulin, and permanently create a dependent on your own body so that your pancreas refuses to make its own, and there is no turning back at all. Or, and I am leaning this way, you could suffer all day until you eventually die from your disease because bisjac says medication is bad.

because there is money for someone to be made there. You pay money to improve your quality of life. Seems like a fair trade. Insurance covers doctor prescribed medications, so your co-pay is never that much anyway.
