Blockland Trading Card Battle Thread

Ok everybody, here's how it works. You add yourself to the roster. Once you do that, you can battle with other players. All battles are moderated by a BLTCBT admin. You cannot battle without an admin's oversight.

There's lots of rules to keep everything fair. Don't whine about them.

Rulz

Cards
- You can make up to 3 cards. No more.
- Your card has to be balanced. Cards used / won in Dusty12's tournament CAN be used here.
- You lose, you lose your card. Once you lose a card either here OR in Dusty's, you cannot use it here.
- All cards have to be approved by an admin before they can be put in play. We will tell you if your card is overpowered, underpowered (in which case you'll need to edit it) or just perfect.
- All cards have 100 health by default. Like Dusty's, you have a maximum of 5 moves.
- Passive abilities are acceptable, but they count as a move.
- No items or vehicles. Cards do not have to be your Blockhead, but they do have to be Blockland related.

Battling
- There are no arranged battles. If you want to have a tournament, do it in Dusty's thread.
- You PM an online administrator if you want to play against somebody. If that person PMs the same admin sayig they want to battle you, then you battle.
- Moves have a 4 turn cooldown before they can be used again.
- You PM the move you want to use to us, not post it here. Please, PM us with this template:
-- Subject: BLTCB: [your name] vs. [your opponent] Round [Round number]
-- Message content: I use ___ (or) I pass.
Once your opponent sends us this form too, we'll post the results of the round into the thread. Both attacks take place at different times based on what they do.

All battles take place on http://etherpad.com/BLTCB or a Blockland server

Defensive moves (heals, dodges, shields, buffs) take effect first.
Attacks take effect second.

Multiple Cards / Card Stealing
- You can set any special conditions of a match in the PM you send an admin. (Like no card stealing)
- When you win a match, you can steal your opponents card. You get to choose the card to steal (Unless conditions state otherwise.)
- You can only use as many cards in a battle as the opponent with the lowest amount of cards. You can only steal cards that were used.
- You do not have to use a card if you don't want to.
- You can choose ONE card from your deck to be steal-proof. You can only choose a card you made. Player's can still win the card, but they just get a copy. and you keep your copy.
- When you win a card, you can take it and keep it or turn it into a new card.
- Multiple Card matches can be played one of two ways (Defined by match conditions)
-- Brawl: All cards are in play, and every card can move in one turn. If a card is defeated, you don't get to let the other card move twice. It just moves once a turn, like everybody else.
-- Tag team: Only one card is in play at a time. Once it dies, you can send in another card from your deck.

Card Format
You can use a generator OR make it yourself. (I prefer making them myself, it's not hard.)
- Must have a picture
- Must have a title
- Must have a subtitle
- Must have all moves on it (So if you use a generator and it can't fit all of your moves, you'll need to fire up an image editor and do it yourself)
- Must be 525x750

Please keep conversations/stuffposting in this thread to a minimum, or just make them a smaller font (8 pt is fine)

Suggestion for battle format: The two battlers make a post, and edit it to show their move.
Example:
Turn 1:
Code: [Select]
100 HP
I use ___
EDIT:
Okay so my ___ goes before your ___ but I take __ damage etc. etc.
Turn 2:
Code: [Select]
50 HP
I use ___
EDIT:
You take __ damage, I take __ damage, etc.
Turn 3:
Code: [Select]

...

This way each battle takes only 2 posts, and infinite numbers of people can battle at one time in one topic.

But that way people can look at what somebody used and base their move upon that. A lot of strategy (including mine) is based upon your enemy not knowing what you'll do next.

Edit at a predetermined time or involve a third party.

I did. The third party is us.

If you let the users choose a "referee", they could still easily rig it. I'm just going to build a team of admins and let us handle it. You could be an admin if you like.

I like knowing what my opponent is going to use personally.

well duh, it makes it easier to attack.

well duh, it makes it easier to attack.

But that way the first attacker doesn't get a blatant advantage. Perhaps the attacks  could be seen but the randomization comes at the end of the turn?

I see this as:
Both people chose a move, it happens at the same time.
They don't know what the other does.

Amirite?

Also can I be an admin :D

Pretty much.

Also, utility moves happen before damage moves i think.

And :3
