Author Topic: Model Crashes Blockland - A Blender Exporter Issue?  (Read 961 times)

Hello everyone,

I have a bit of problem with exporting; the models crash Blockland. I was first thinking that it could be some mesh troubles, but I'm more inclined to believe that it is the fault of the exporter.

I made a vehicle and a wheel, and both of them are faulty, they even crash the Torque ShowTool programme, so this is what makes me think that it's the fault of the exporter.

But, I did not completely out rule the mesh problems, so I thought it would be a good idea if some of the experienced people had a look at the raw blender file.

Your help is appreciated.

You have to hit space - add - empty. Then name the empty "Detail32" add another empty and name it Col0 then add another and name it Shape. Right click on Detail32 and then hold shift and right click on Shape. Hit ctrl P and parent detail32 to shape. Then parent Col0 to shape. Add a box and name it Col
This box is you collision mesh. Resize it to about the size of the car, then parent it to Col0. Also, for the armatures, go into edit mode and name the Bone. You are naming the armatures.

I did what you said, and it still crashes Torque ShowTool, which means that the model would crash Blockland too.
Interestingly, I tried to load a few earlier models of mine and they worked there (even though their colourshift is bugged in BL, which might be another exporter issue).

Windows 7 - 64bit

And I'm using Blender 2.49 and the latest available Exporter (v0.97 beta3).

Hmm... I know Vista exporters don't work, but I'm not sure if it's the same with 7. If it worked before, then there's something you're missing.

Do you get any console errors?

Just crash, that's all.

Also, the exporter did work on Vista for me.

Vista exporters work fine.

Vista exporters work fine.

Not mine. I've reinstalled it many times. It says that it exports correctly, but the model crashes me. When I export it on my laptop (Windows XP), it works just fine.

:/

It causes me to make my models on Vista because the screen is huge and lovey, (About 9x the size of my laptop), but then I have to move to my laptop for export.
