I have a wireless internet on a lynksis router, I keep googling, But i get nothing helpful, When i type in http://192.168.1.1, It brings up my DADS modem/router/whatevertheforgetitis And i found out that 10.10.10.1 is the REAL thing for my router, I know what to do, But then i type in my IP address (10.10.10.1) and it doesnt work, So here's what im doing in pictures:

Amidoinitright?

nopeguessnot

24000?
I recall it being 28000.

It was just an example.

Here's what you do:

Go to start > Run > Type in cmd

Then type ipconfig then look for the IPv4 Address. That's the IP address you should enter at the port forwarding page to do it right.

28000 - 28030 Both protocols.

Thanks, Ill try that.

Ok it worked, But now i can't find my DNS , I mean im at the status page, But there aren't any numbers next to dns.

Does that mean i put nothing?

You dont have to port forward at all.......

DOUBLE TOAST:
To host without port forwarding you must:
----A: Have UPnP enabled on your router.  There is often a simple radio button for this on your router configuration page.

-OR-

B: Have a router that does not randomize UDP origin ports.

If you do not have UPnP your server's ping will show up as "---".  In this case if your router is non-randomizing your server will still be join-able.

I want to host my own server, Because my blockland UPnp for some reason only lets me have 1 other person online.

Usually your ISP will provide you with a DNS (domain name system) to connect to, however sometimes routers can auto-resolve it. Also if you cannot find the setting for it you can just use a free one (such as I believe OpenDNS).

I believe the job of the DNS is to resolve URLs (http://blockland.us) into an IP which the computer can then connect to(Blockland.us - 70.86.174.34). If you are having no trouble with web browsing, don't go changing the DNS settings; you can set them on your computer and so the ones on your router can be obsolete.

28000 - 28030 Both protocols.
I thought as of V14/13 it was only necessary to do port 28000, I saw kompressor say it somewhere...

I suspect this will be your problem.

You don't need DNS.
