You don't need to reset your modem or router via the computer. Just do a hardware reset with the buttons located on your units.

if your on DSL, then your modem and router are the same.

but cable, then you should try resetting both boxes.

there will be a tiny hole on the back of your modem with a tiny button inside........get a pen and push the button for half a second
edit: in your picture theres tthe word RESET thats where the button is

Do you guys think he knows how to connect to his ISP?  Otherwise resetting the modem won't do much other than put him on the phone with tech support for 2 hours.
