He is using & abusing the offline-mode which RBL automatically goes into when there is no valid connection.

He is probably using a make-shift key which the game thinks is real when in offline-mode, so he can have unlimited bricks.

Bit silly, really.

after it authenticates, you reconnect cable.
there is authentication check when joining internet servers, but not with lan
