2. Who looks at interfaces? I always have my media players BEHIND the things I'm paying attention to. Keyboard hotkeys ftw.

I suggest installing Songbird and VLC. Songbird is better for managing your music playlists and stuff, plus it has an addon system. VLC media player is just a good thing to have installed because it plays pretty much anything.
