Author Topic: Graphics Fail [IMAGE HEAVY]  (Read 1542 times)

I have graphics problems all the time, not being able to see brick outlines, not being able to see particles, not being able to see Undulo bricks, etc.

But this time I am a bit concerned, I was hosting a ski server on bedroom, (Not a remake of bedroom mind you.) and everything kind of just forgeted up suddenly! Not like the usual floating triangles, but almost all the textures changed into random stuff!

Look:

(Personally, I think this one looks kind of cool, except for the red stripe.)

This has never happened to me before, not counting the minor graphics problems stated before, I would like to stop all of my graphics problems all together. If it helps any, buttons, like the ones in a GUI don't have outlines for me either, leading me to believe it's a problem with my Blockland. So if no one can help me out I'll try downloading Blockland again. Any and all help will be duly appreciated, and thank you in advance.

I'm about to go check what my console log has to say about this, I hope that it will have some useful information.

OK, this happens to me sometimes. I'm guessing that you were switching back and forth between open windows, maybe watching Youtube...(Those Triangles look a lot like the Youtube play button, and the red lines look a lot like the Youtube tracker bar... ). It happens to me when I am switching from full screen Blockland and another Window. So, if this is the same as my problem,  just don't switch back and forth between windows. Hope I helped!

No, this happened to my brother, it was fixed when he had windows reinstalled on his computer, also those arrows, are IN the blockland file check for yourself in
C:\Program Files\Blockland\base\client\ui

I also crashed about an hour after taking those screenshots, I dug into my console log and found this:

Code: [Select]
ERROR: CSGPlane::clipWindingToPlaneFront: error in polygon clipper
ERROR: CSGPlane::clipWindingToPlaneFront: error in polygon clipper
ERROR: CSGPlane::clipWindingToPlaneFront: error in polygon clipper
ERROR: CSGPlane::clipWindingToPlaneFront: error in polygon clipper
ERROR: CSGPlane::clipWindingToPlaneFront: error in polygon clipper
ERROR: CSGPlane::clipWindingToPlaneFront: error in polygon clipper
ERROR: CSGPlane::clipWindingToPlaneFront: error in polygon clipper
ERROR: CSGPlane::clipWindingToPlaneFront: error in polygon clipper
ERROR: CSGPlane::clipWindingToPlaneFront: error in polygon clipper
ERROR: CSGPlane::clipWindingToPlaneFront: error in polygon clipper
ERROR: CSGPlane::clipWindingToPlaneFront: error in polygon clipper

Now just imagine that, but taking up a gigabyte worth of room. Does anyone know what this is?

Also, to put this is perspective:

See the scroll bar? Everything below where it is now is:

Code: [Select]
ERROR: CSGPlane::clipWindingToPlaneFront: error in polygon clipper
The error sequence took up about 50 Megabytes, and considering my computer is nearly thirteen years old, it was hard on the old girl. :C

I'm still looking for what might have caused the texture problem though.

Some how blockwindow.png is overlapping the bedroom textures.

Find something in your addons called CSGPlane and remove it.

I found something.

After finding where I was freaking out about how it was messing up, I found this little bugger:

Code: [Select]
Creating a new rendering context...
Making the new rendering context current...
OpenGL driver information:
  Vendor: NVIDIA Corporation
  Renderer: GeForce FX 5200/AGP/SSE2
  Version: 2.1.2
OpenGL Init: Enabled Extensions
  ARB_multitexture (Max Texture Units: 4)
  EXT_paletted_texture
  EXT_compiled_vertex_array
  NV_vertex_array_range
  EXT_texture_env_combine
  EXT_packed_pixels
  EXT_fog_coord
  ARB_texture_compression
  EXT_texture_compression_s3tc
  (ARB|EXT)_texture_env_add
  EXT_texture_filter_anisotropic (Max anisotropy: 8.000000)
  WGL_EXT_swap_control
  GL_ARB_vertex_buffer_object
  GL_EXT_multi_draw_arrays
  ARB_occlusion_query
OpenGL Init: Disabled Extensions
  3DFX_texture_compression_FXT1

It looks like something might have just completely reset something, not sure though... But I think Flush may have a point.

From what I'm studying right now, the CSGPlane seems to be the whole 3D world created by Torque, and so it is nowhere near an add-on. I most likely can't just delete it and hope for the best, mostly because I don't think it is accessible by anyone at any time, but even if I COULD delete it, it would probably forget up my game even more than it already is!

Triple post short bump because I have no patience.

I was thinking of plane as in flying plane, not flat plane. Well I have no experience with scripting so I can't help.

This is beginning to depress me.

Update your graphics? (Driver)
Reinstall Blockland
Check for any of your crap-on'd stuff (That happend to me with the mini-nuke back in v9)
