Author Topic: Can I connect my DS to my laptop's internet via wireless?  (Read 1958 times)

I'm trying to connect my DS to wi-fi but I'm too far from the closest wireless where I am, and at home my Nintendo Wi-Fi adapter piece-of-stuff doesn't work, PLUS my DS can't connect to our home router.

My last line of hope (I assume, please prove me wrong unless it involves buying something) is that I can connect my DS wirelessly to my laptop, which is connected to the internet, somehow. I tried looking through my network settings and Googling it, but to no avail. I'm using Vista. Any help?

There might be, because I have seen other laptops do this to each other. However, the connections are generally stuff and never work properly.

Quite honestly I don't care. As long as it holds for about 30 seconds so I can get my flying Pikachu.

Sorry I don't think you can connect to your laptop and then to your router. Just go to Mcdonalds o:

HG/SS, Mystery Gift -> From Nintendo WFC -> Load to Pokewalker and take about 10,000 steps

I already tried Googling dammit, for pages it was all "How to connect to the internet derp".

And I'm not on a wired connection, ad-hoc doesn't work when you're on wireless

You could create a bridge connection for wifi devices nearby, but otherwise no.

get a wired connection then o;

Can you create/share a network from your computer? That would probably do it.

Oh yeah! Until may 1st

DS doesn't put out a signal to bridge

That's kind of what I'm trying to do

Ad-hoc is the only way I know and I can't do that

Wait so you are wirelessly connected to a router with Wi-Fi and you don't just use the router your laptop is wirelessly connecting to?
