Author Topic: "Locked" Server  (Read 2713 times)

Ok, I tried re-installing Blockland for this, rebooting my router, and stopped launching Blockand through Steam, nothing seems to work. When I host with UPnP (same goes for with forwarded ports) only one person is able to join, then no one else is able to. Example:

Quote
Blockhead15000 connected.
Blockhead1500 disconnected.

[IRC Message from Blockhead1500: I can't join your server]

Or say Blockhead1500 stays, no one else is able to join after one person enters the server, wether they stay or leave. I have the player limit at 8 so more than two people should be able to join. How can I fix this?

Tom

Do you have ports 28000 THOUGH 28030 forwarded?

I am not port forwarding, does not work for me currently, but in v15 you can disable to use UPnP. For now I am using UPnP, but this glitch still occours.

This is a lie. It only needs 28000 open.

Whatever I use, UPnP or Port Forwarding (not both), only one person can join and after that it is no longer joinable, if the person who joined leavesm they are not even able to re-join. Should I post a console log?

Sadly, kompressor is wrong
If you have only 28k open, you can have a two player server.
The more ports you have up to 28032, the more players you can host

Wrong. The more ports open, the more servers you can host. A port is only a tunnel from the cloud to your computer where a specific program will catch it. If you have more ports open, you may host more servers that use an unique port to retrieve those ports that are open.

When I had ports 28000-28001 open, only two people could join. A lot tried, only two suceeded

I've had only one port open, and over 20 people could join without a problem. If you check the Advanced Settings before you start server, you will see that there's an option named port, which you can only set one value.

In older versions (v11 and before?) It required the multi-port I think.

My port under Advanced in Blockland is 28000, could this be the problem and should I change it to 28030?

Try forwarding only 28000, it's worth the try if your router screws up on multiple ports.

I'm trying to host with UPnP currently. I'm able to host either way, but only one person is able to join. I have tried port forwarding before just 28000 under Single Port Forwarded on my router last week but the problem still occoured only allowing one person in.

Tom

Well then do what Kalphiter said and try to do a range port forward.

It look like the person can connect but disconnects when it can't move to the new connection on a different port.
