He's complaining for the sake of getting something off his chest which he's annoyed about. You'll find this is done quite commonly and is quite acceptable. You're then jumping in and telling him how wrong he is and ranting about kids in poor countries. I'm ignoring one of your questions because I'm just trying to keep the discussion relevant and not split into some long discussion about African kids.

This isn't a "competition" and it'd be nice if you could just treat this as a debate instead of something you can win or lose, while trying to "call it a draw and walk away".

Anyways, I've had the last Thursday and Friday off of school, due to a teacher training day (It was only for the Thursday, but they didn't see the point in being closed for one day then bringing everyone back in for one more day, just before a holiday). I then had the Saturday and Easter Sunday off, as usual. I now have this week off, then the weekend, then the next week and weekend off. Finally, I have the Monday after off of school due to a Teacher Training day again.

So, long Easter Holiday, really. And the thing is, I'm not too happy with it. Sure, I get a break from school, but pretty soon afterwards I've got a GCSE Science exam, then two GCSE history exams, one on Surgery through History, and the other on Medecine through the ages.
Although, the year after I do a history exam on WWII and then one on "Cowboys and Injuns" in the Wild West :3

I have about seven full weeks of school. They are thinking of having school on Memorial Day due to winter break part 2. Serious.

Am I complaining amidst heavy work on a huge project that counts for my whole final English grade? Nope.

I'm doing distance ed this year so basically every day of my life is 1/10 school day instead of 1/4 like mainstream, because I just get all the set work done within a few hours.
