And as for 7680x1600, somebody did it with Crysis Warhead on one 5870. Your 5970 should have no problems at that resolution.

Yeah, I meant 1600, my mistake.  I just put it in a calculator because I couldn't remember the number off the top of my head, and put both numbers in there by accident.

I'd hate having the lower end of the spectrum when it comes to Operating Systems. That's why I have Windows 7 Ultimate x64 B)

All I was trying to say was that there is no reason to get anything other than Home Premium other than those features.  There are no other differences.  Unless you require one of those features, getting anything above Home Premium is a waste of money.

I don't really like the 400 series, mostly because they are so expensive, and the extra expense is out of proportion with the performance increase over the best ATI cards.  I'll take value and features over raw performance.

Taking the average of all playable FPS results, we can see that the GTX 480 is about ~28.7% faster than HD 5870.

The performance increase is much smaller for the games I play.  So sure, of all playable FPS results, it's 28.7% faster (I'll take his word for it), but for my games, it's much lower.
