There are three forms of love. The one I believe you are thinking of is the first form:
1. Lust - This is formed by a part of the brain that provides excitement. This is common in both single people and newly coupled ones.
2. First falling in love - this is when people become a bit obsessed with their partner. They constantly think about them and want to be around them. This most commonly dies off after a while.
3. "True love" (Long term commitment) - This is most common in married couples. It is a sense of peace and security when one is around the other. You can quite easily have this feeling, whether it be temporary or long term, with a guy. It doesn't make one gay, but it definitely doesn't keep them straight.

I know a lot of gay people. I knew it when I was around them, and when I talked to them; it didn't stop me from feeling perfectly comfortable around them. It's like the bible versus atheists, apart from now it's modern society vs Gay people.

Not necessarily, it has been proven that this is common between married couples. They're not family members until married, but some say they feel it before they become married. And compared to the friend part, I meant it strong than friendship, I'm talking romantic relationship wise. Of course, you already knew that.
