so i'm building a new computer since this loving imac is just terrible, but i don't know where to start

yes it's odd because i'm asian and i should be inherently good at this kind of thing blah blah

anyways, i've got a 500 dollar budget. suggestions for parts/entire rigs would be sweet

It's maybe a classic, but it got windows 7 ;o

Are you planning on using it as a Mac or as a PC?

For 500, you can get a good compact PC.
Or a tower with a okay video card.

Ninja edit:  Windows 7, it has DirectX 11 which is better than 10.

Dude, your not helping.

ok first you're a richard

second, pc.

With $500 we don't have  much to work with.

Since it's a Mac you can't really recycle any of the parts into the new one.

I could put together a decent dual-core build but it wouldn't be great at gaming. You could of course run source games easily as they don't require much power.

I know I'm not helping in saying this but why ask BL forum, ephie did it and ARC trilled him and people did the same. I wish I could help but like most other people here we don't know much about computers.

Well, I actually built my own, using newegg.

all i really need is something that will reliable run any source game at high settings, work fast, look good, etc

i'm not looking for something that'll, i don't know, run crCIA on loving high

You can get the computer I have, it's a good computer.

it's a P6T Deluxe v2 (I dont really know if that explains what computer it is, but let's guess on that)

I've modified it so it had :

6 GB RAM

NVIDA GeForce GTX260

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67GHz

It's a good computer and can run everything good.

Price I paid for it: 200$.
