The newer Sony VAIO laptops are superior and cheaper for what they're worth.

EDIT: For 1k, you can get a very strong and updated laptop. Of course, you can customize and pick any VAIO within any of the series for your budget. The Radeon Card should be ABOVE HD4800 for a good gaming laptop. Anything below is older.
