Guys, don't use i as a variable, it is the symbol equaling the square root of negative one.

Umm...isn't it...4?

HA HA HA HA HA HA! oh...yes..

Not just that, right?  I thought i was just 'imaginary'

Nice math problem Draco.

12!
Do it in your head, like I did.
Note: you can use a calculator to check it.  Just no paper or anything of the sort.  If a twelve-year-old can do it, then you can to.

Kakuna + Rattata = Lion King

100 + 5 - 76 + 98(52)/45*123 + 65 + 98 + 76 - 54 * 356 / 23 / 0
29+13929+163-∞
14121-∞
-∞
infinity x 1

i has a defined value of the square root of negative one. It is imaginary because it cannot be represented by the linear number line, so numbers containing i are considered complex numbers. It has one value, and one value only. It is not a variable.

i is the variable for the square root of a negative number. No other way to put it.

It's not a variable. Variables vary. That's where they get their name from. i has a fixed value, like π.

What is what? If you are talking about i, then too bad, because I'm 14 and get it. If you are talking about 12!, I got that 5 years ago. Why did you state your age?

i is an imaginary number, it doesn't have value as it does not exist on the number line or exist period.

I'm tired of explaining this.

i does exist, and it opens up a new perspective on mathematics. If it did not exist, it would not be considered a number. Just like my alien friend isn't.
