Author Topic: ATI RADEON X700 pro : Any good?  (Read 843 times)

My dad bought me the graphics card listed above, and was wondering if it was any good. As in new AVP good, and what games it could run with little to no lag.

Oblivion is probably the most graphically intensive game you can RUN with that gpu(after tweaking and mods).  In other words, it's an outdated piece of stuff, and no you can't play the new AVP.  It will, however, run L4D and TF2.

The ATi Radeon X700 is INCREDIBLY outdated! You probably won't be able to run anything more than modern Intel graphics should be able to run. Probably HL2, L4D (on low-medium)...

I was able to find a set of benchmarks of it from 2006.

I'm afraid it isn't a very good card and it unlikely that AVP will play very well on it. That being said, I'd just try and live with it. I imagine your dad doesn't know a significant amount about computer components and thought this was a good card. It is rude to say, but I'd just be grateful for it.

Actually, my dad knows alot about computers, it turns out though he didn't buy it, he found it in a box in the "Computer room" and showed me it, it is better than my card though.

If it's better than whatever you have at the moment then who's to complain about it being ridiculously out-dated?
