Author Topic: On the subject of the use of relays and projectiles to create realistic circuits  (Read 4699 times)

OK did some testing i can assure you that all the Compact gates work
all i need is xor and such but i don't plan to make those
the nearby ones are examples the ones farther away are the compacts
hook everything up to a single power source
with a period of 1000ms
here's a good way to set up events of things affected by outputs

on_relay | self | state when input = 1
on relay | cancel events
delay = 1250 on relay| self | state when input = 0

Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait...
Wait..

Wait..

A Nand gate? Not And? What the hell would that do? Create a Or gate?
Someone with decent grammar explain.

truth tables

technically yes
although we would need an update to surpass the limit after which bricks are no longer displayed

The limit is set at 128.000 bricks ;)

Enigma Machine sounds like a bad remake of the Mystery Machine.
Enigma machine was a Soviet coding machine for messages used in WWII. It's code would have taken 60.3 million years to crack the code if today's computers were a million times faster.

huh? all i knew was that it had something to do with codes and early computers

-snip-

Really you just need the AND, OR, NOT (which can make NAND and NOR), possibly XOR (and XNOR). You could also do the 2 conditionals(if-then and then-if) and the biconditional... Meh. Just read you mentioned you didn't want the other "more complex" ones... even though they all only have 4 possible inputs(TT TF FT FF) and thus 4 outputs....

However I don't really see any useful applications for this; yeah it's pretty nifty, but to be honest most people may use things like this without even thinking "oh thats an AND gate".

It's kinda like we are downgrading the technology...

Now, so if we had a few million of these, we could recreate Blockland IN Blockland?? Is that what you're saying?
Sorry to be a party crasher, but this would be [edit]near [/edit]impossible. First of all, it would be almost impossible to set all the relays necessary. Secondly, I don't believe that there is a way to make a functioning mouse inBlockland, let alone a full keyboard. Then you would need a huge colorset, and enough bricks to simulate a screen, and each one would have to be separately named. Thats at least 400x500 (I think) bricks, and each one has to be named, and have a general eventing system using each one.  :cookie: to the epic person that can actually do this, but probably not happening.

Thats the exact time that it would take to check for each possible variation of what the code could be, but what if the computers tried the correct variation on the 5th time through?

For my BASM Add-On, I am going to have something like this, just not as low level.

Make an XOR gate.

I have
Nand,
And,
Or,
Nor,
,and Not
also i looked no one has ever made working logic gates
and i dont use any named bricks!
i supose that with the screen each pixel would be a 4x4 grid of cells made of 4 bricks black red green and blue
then you could switch em on n off with relays
like in rl

but probably not happening.
Duh.

Who's going to take the time? Also, the "Too many events at once!" thing would pop up or something.

meh well it is turring complete so if we had infinite memory and time we could simulate infinite universes containing infinite blocklands
:EDIT:

Ok i think i irond out all the bugs in what i have now
ive only gotten 2 of the segments linkied up  B and C
but they work :)
to start it wrench the black screen by the red buttons and set event 0 to on
then click the brick
clicking red buttons modifies input
1001 is the highes displayabl number ie. 9
valid inputs are
0000|0
0001|1
0010|2
0011|3
0100|4
0101|5
0110|6
0111|7
1000|8
and 1001|9

dont worry after the BCD to display part is complete i will add a decimal to BCD hooked up to a keypad
also when this prototype is done i will optimize and make a smaller display

Blockland IN Blockland?
Yo dawg I herd yo liek Brockrand sho I put yo Broackland in yo Blockrand so yo can playz whaleiz yao plaizy.
