Author Topic: iPod Touch unable to save pictures  (Read 1720 times)

This has been going on for quite a while now, but it just got really annoying.

(To all you Apple haters out there, hey, I don't like them either, but this is not the place for a flame war/negative comments.)

I have a first generation iPod Touch with 3.1.2 firmware, and yes, it is jailbroken. However, that is NOT the cause of the problem. It has been jailbroken for almost three months now and this problem started about three weeks ago. Whenever I try to save a picture, it gives me the option to, so I select it. It saves (or so I think it does) and I go to view it. I open the Photos app and I see the thumbnail of the picture I just saved in the Saved Pictures line. It even correctly calculates the number of pictures I have saved. But, when I go into the Saved Pictures album, the picture I supposedly just saved is not there, and the number of photos does not match what it said on the Saved Pictures album title.

Help? :c

Maybe it got saved elsewhere

Try using Cydia and search for your image.

How would this work? I'm not doubting that it works, but how would it work?

:o I have iFile, lol, completely forgot about it. Checking now.

EDIT: I just checked iFile, looking mainly in /var/mobile/Media/Photos, but found nothing. Any other suggestions?

Bump, this is really annoying. :c

It's in your camera roll you tard

It's in your camera roll you tard

First of all, I don't have a camera roll because this isn't an iPhone.
Secondly, the place where all saved pictures should be doesn't contain the pictures I've tried saving recently. There are pictures in it, but they're from back when I could save pictures.

Ipod touches can save pictures?

Ipod touches can save pictures?

Yes. Hold your finger on the picture for a second or two. If it's just a picture, "Save Image," "Copy," and "Cancel" will appear. If it's a picture with a link, "Open," "Open in New Page," "Save Image," "Copy," and "Cancel" will appear.

What does jailbroken mean? Somebody in your local jail stood on it?

It means that someone watched a video of a guy in jail, and he used the iPod as a portal to freedom.

To jailbreak an iPhone/iPod Touch or anything like it (such as HTC phones) is using jailbreak software to essentially rearrange the operating system/firmware of the device to enable it to do things it could not previously do. Jailbreaking your device voids its warranty but that doesn't really matter when the warranty has expired. Jailbreaking is often looked down upon because it is sometimes viewed as hacking. While it can allow you to obtain things that aren't free for free, people like myself do not use it for that purpose, and rather to make the device capable of doing more. For instance, a normal iPod Touch/iPhone (and iPad) cannot multitask. A jailbroken device, however, can, with the right software.
