Author Topic: My PS3 burned out.  (Read 2881 times)

Ohz noez. My PS3's motherboard got fried. A system I spent 300 bucks on (split the bill with my father, was 600 at the time) has broken. It's now in my trunk and I am thinking about throwing it in the river. What should I do? Spend $170 to get it repaired, or go with something else?

And yes, I've left it on for more than a few weeks before, which is probably why it burned out.

For the love of mother nature.
Throw it in the river.

Do you have any good games for it?

Why would you leave a console on for over a few weeks? That's just ridiculous.

I have some. All of which have either stopped playing or have just gotten boring after awhile.

It's called being irresponsible. I was basically being an idiot.

PS3: Burning out, exploding and sometimes it stops working.
XBox 360: RRoD
Wii: Once in a great while, it disconnects. Nothing too bad

See teh logic?

I never turn off my PC.

Those PS3 problems and Wii problems aren't really related.  Also, PS3's never have exploded, give me proof.

I'm sure someone out there would pay for the parts inside your ps3, since they are expensive..

The problem is you're thinking I meant exploding like a bomb.

I mean exploding like overheating x2

The worst that a PS3 can get for an error is the Yellow light of death, but sony and a bunch of other reviewers said that there is only like, a 5% chance of that happening. You'd have to install some weird stuff on your PS3 to get that.

If you leave any console on for over two weeks they will overheat.

I was thinking a computer psu explosion thing, but overheating isn't exploding.

My old computer has been running for over 4 years.

Nice.
Never had any power blackouts?

No, never :/

Any blackouts that had happened was before I had that pc.

I also think it is plotting to kill me.
