If you delete your digital copy your friend can burn it no problem, legally.

It's an interesting question about music piracy, that if the laws on it aren't enforced except for the highest level offenders (like the guys that ran the pirate bay that got charged not too long ago) then the only thing keeping you from downloading music is morality. But if there wasn't a law against it (which, for all intents and purposes, there isn't), would it still be morally loose?

What I do to "legally" buy music is go to rummage sales and buy out all the CDs and cassette tapes they have of interest, then I download them over the net because I now legally own the music and have the right to download a legal backup copy in the event that the said CD or cassette doesn't work. Which is why I always, and I do say always pick up random CDs on the ground if I encounter them and can read the label.

There's a great thrift store near my house that sells CDs for like $.25. It's really a shame that their selection sucks.

it's not that, I just don't want Badspot to ban me  :cookieMonster:

Beemp3 sucks, it keeps giving me weird remix versions of indie DJs.

P2P programs also do the same thing for some reason.

I trust YouTube Downloader, because if its music it's on youtube.

On my table at lunch, I found an index card saying the advantages of p2p.

I have a friend that

only has paid for 1 cd and has over 5000 songs, now even that is wrong in my mind

also does anyone remember that free video game site where people donate money so people can have games free?
and money is not an issue I am just lazy to go to stores and convince my parents to let me use their card :P

That's why I love Rummage sales. You usually find some good CDs laying around that they don't want. I even buy the super scratched ones they recommend I not buy. I just smile and add em to the cart so to speak. I bet they're still wondering about my mental faculties or if I'm just into art deco decorating or something. lol

I'm going to have to start walking around my neighborhood more on Saturdays with cash.

And a bag or something to carry your now growing CD stash in. I suggest a big box in the garage to just dump them in after.

speaking of rummage sales. i got like 8 sets of bionicles yesterday for about 20 bucks.
i dont even like them lol. but they are lego i couldn't resist.

...Not quite, I think the backup copy can only be ripped, or is it different between games and music?
