Author Topic: How in hell do find the cube root of a number?  (Read 3810 times)

I'm 13 in algebra 1. I'm getting half a credit if I can finish a years worth of work in half  year, and I'm stuck on cube roots. They never even told me how to do square roots.

Help me. I've been stuck on this for 3 weeks now. I'm pissed at mysef, and my mother is also.

Pay attention in school.

33=3*3*3 if you are talking about exponents.

This thread reminds me of the "blocklandify a sentence" thread.

Normal: Hey guys, I need help in algebra, would you mind to help me? How do I square roots?

n*n=8
n= √8 (square root of 8)

y*y*y=8
y=∛8 (cube root of 8)

If you can do exponents you can do roots.

2^2 = 4;
sqrt 4 = 2;

It's just its opposite.

Heres the other problem. I don't have a teacher for math. I do that at home, and my mother/father don't understand it.
Allow me to reinterate. I know what a cube is, but I can't figure one out.

isnt this why homeschooling is bad?

You go to a school where they don't teach math?
What the forget.

Actually, you might be right.

They do, I just don't take that class.

You can pick classes?
Why don't you just leave school at all? It's not like math is totally not needed after you're done with school.

Well, if you look at a cube visually, what defines it?

In terms of its dimensions it can be represented simply by length * width * height. Since a cube has equal dimensions, then it would be n*n*n = n^3.

god. This is getting nowhere. I'll just go back to trawling the internet.
I didn't ask for "homeskhool is gud/baed" opinions, just how to do a cubed root.
