Author Topic: UPnP does not work for me  (Read 6009 times)

Have you tried to un-forward your ports? I had the same problem until I did that.
I disabled it, I enabled it. Nothing. UPnP is enabled... or should it not be?

RTB gets rid of good USEFUL add-ons. That's why I disabled the "Delete Crap-ons" option.

IGSO is a good addon?

They are crapons for a reason.
The Mini-Nuke? I saw that as useful, until V14 made it broken.

Blockland\base\server\crapOns_Chache.cs

set all the values to false

Blockland\base\server\crapOns_Chache.cs

set all the values to false
From my experience, it rewrites itself.

Ok. Badspot, i know you are working hard to make things better on Blockland, but there are some MAJOR ISSUES in V14. NONE i repeat NONE of my friends can connect to my server anymore. The new connection method introduced by V14 is incompatible with my computer. My router IS compatible with uPnP and it IS enabled, but it still has not worked for me once. Nearly every single person who was able to connect to my server in V13 is no longer able to. My suggestions for V15 are:
-Make it so the user can CHOOSE whether to connect using the old or new connection method
--OR--
-Scrap the new connection method all together, because it has caused nothing but problems for me.

Users who view this post: Reply if you agree. I hope that Badspot will notice this and will be kind enough to help fix the issues with V14, even though i know he works hard for us already.
That's where I really started hating you.

So, because a few people are having problems, he should throw all of his hard work away, or some how come up with a system that allows two forms of connecting to a server (if that is remotely possible)?
I didnt say throw all the work away. I said give us the option to CHOOSE which connection method to use. Blockland chooses by itself and for some stupid reason, it always choosesthe one that DOESNT work.
I know badspot  worked hard to make it, but its incomplete. uPnP is fairly new technology and its not fully compatible with blockland as far as i know. Im suggesting he either finish/debug it, or simply give us a choice in the preferences, or on the bottom.

How about telling us what kind of router you have and post your console log instead of just flaming like a handicap.
Ok. here is what ive got going:
Belkin Wireless G router

Model No: F5D7234-4 v5 (01)

Console log:

Initializing UPnP...
--------------------
List of UPNP devices found on the network :

 desc: http://192.168.2.6:2869/upnphost/udhisapi.dll?content=uuid:761d9fd6-dab2-4dae-b99c-1beaf759f826
 st: upnp:rootdevice

UPnP device found. Is it an IGD ? : http://192.168.2.6:2869/

Trying to continue anyway

Local LAN ip address : 192.168.2.6

GetExternalIPAddress failed.

GetSpecificPortMappingEntry() failed with code -1 (Miniupnpc Unknown Error)

--------------------

Thats it. then it loads addons and starts. Ive also gotten this message before:

uPnP discovery failed.

Ive gotten something like this before as well but not recently:

 Found a (not connected?) IGD:http://(etc...)

Trying to continue anyways

Local Lan IP address: 192.168.2.6

addSpecificPortMappingEntry() failed with code (###) (invalid action)

or something like that. Not exactly sure, it hasnt happened recently. This message came from the exact same router, at different times.

vb scraps, scrapping, scrapped (tr)
1. to make into scrap
2. to discard as useless

Note: By "all of his hard work," I meant his work towards making hosting possible for everyone.

I don't know much about how Blockland works, but I'm pretty sure it is rather hard to make multiple connection types by choice and that most of the children that play it will not be able to understand how it works.

Just listen to Badspot and report and further problems you have with Blockland to the help section. Unless it relates to this, then just post it here.

The old connection method still exists, but when people go to connect, the program doesnt use the old method, it uses the new one (Punch Packets) and then they cant connect.
