Actually there is a difference between liking someone and making fun of someones origin - usually if you like someone you don't make fun of him/her or his/her origin. But of course you don't know that. Since you did both, saying that you like be, or that you love me, and making fun of me, it IS a joke in my eyes.

If you're not comfortable with it then I'll refrain from the wisecracks about German origins. All you simply had to tell me was you were uncomfortable with it and I would stop, as I'm doing now.
