You mean the NEW Halo BR right? That one from Reach isn't a Battle Rifle. It's the DMR (Designated Marksman's Rifle), the Halo 2 cut version of the Battle Rifle. The only difference is another centimeter to add to the barrel, it fires single shots, and that lovely first headshot is a satisfactory 1-Hit KO.
