Hmmm.... What if someone forgets their stuff at home? How does this NOT break the 4th amendment for citizens? What about tribal cops?

I'm against illegal immigrants, but still.

I think we should put a limit on how many illegals can be in our country.  :cookieMonster:

You have to show them proof of birth. So if you're Mexican, you have to carry your personal documentation in Arizona. This bill effectivley mandates racial profling.

I'm so totally going to carry my birth certificate all over the place.

*Gets mugged*

Shoot.

It is a good law. They aren't going to 'pull random people' out of their just because they are mexican. It allows them to quickly resolve the matter without calling the problem and whatever else they do. Also it is called a driving license, you wouldn't have to carry around birth certificates...

Also everyone should have their license since that is the law.

Arizona lawmakers on Tuesday passed one of the toughest pieces of immigration-enforcement legislation in the country, which would make it a violation of state law to be in the U.S. without proper documentation.

It would also grant police the power to stop and verify the immigration status of anyone they suspect of being illegal. - IE Random People

that does't make sense, just because I used mexicans as an example doesn't mean I am not refering to everyone.

Also SUSPECT of being illegal. That is what they do already, it's not a big deal.

You're missing the point. The Bill points out Mexicans specifically, and so it's racially profiling. And there are quite a few tribal cops in Arizona, I'm sure they wouldn't mind ruining the day for a Mexican.
