1. Guns will always be in civilian hands in America. The second amendment will never go away.
2. Guns don't cause violence; they merely are used in violence.
3. Outlawing guns doesn't make criminals go away. They're already criminals, so they won't bat an eye at owning an illegal weapon.

The only weaponry I believe should be severely regulated are high velocity assault rifles and fully automatic weapons. They do more than stop someone from killing you; they will kill the person you aim them at. Fully automatic weapons are higher risk in general to own, and just one person can kill an entire crowd with one.

Today, I went to the shooting range with my step-dad, and fired a 9mm for the first time.
Now the only time I had ever fired any gun, was when I was 8. It was a stuffty 12guage, and I was shooting at a cup. Here, there were a lot of people around, and I was paranoid of just about everything.

He took a few shots, and told me I'm up next. I was nice and calm.... Until the gun was in my hands.... I trembled so much, I almost completely missed the target. After taking the first shot, I thought, "Why was I just pissing my pants?"

After that, he got out a 30-30 rifle, and had me shoot it. The bang made me crap my pants, and I held the gun wrong, and ended up bruising my shoulder.

I was embarrassed after he got out the .22, and said, "Here. Those other guns are for men. You shoot this."
