I have also had problems uninstalling dell datasafe (it only partly uninstalled using window's uninstall function in the control panel, resulting in tons of error messages all the time). I even phoned dell's support and got the answer "I don't know how to uninstall Dell data safe, I would recommend you to factory reset your computer and keep dell data safe installed". Thank you for that, stupid *ss dell support.However, I found my own way to uninstall dell datasafe. The trick is to ensure that no Dell programs are running while performing the uninstallThis is done e.g. by running CCleaner as BatBoy suggest, and then under the Tools/startup remove all dell applications from automatic startup when windows starts. Then reboot your computer - now no Dell programs should be running - and perform a normal uninstall of dell datasafe through window's control panel.Voilà , no more sh*tty Dell data safe. At least this worked for me.
