Surround system asdf'ing?

So I plugged my 5.1 surround system in, and decided to play some cave story.

BUT HOLY forget THE MUSIC

It's basically like this

Normal music SCREEECH normal music SCREECH etc etc...

And I don't hear anything besides the screech when it plays.

Both the beat and the BGM end when the screech starts.

Help me D:?

PS : I didin't encounter this error anywhere , just in Cave Story. Altrough the music is fine and dandy when I use headphones. Yes, all the settings are set to 5.1 speakers so that can't be it.
