One of the many components that you will encounter while exploring the Bloketure Science Facility is the Thermal Discouragement Beam:
In the image above, you may think: "Are those thermally discouraged turrets?" well the answer is
no!Even though not looking like weighted pivot blockheads, those are weighted pivot blockheads. They reflect the Thermal Discouragement Beam to the area of thermal discouragement, upon doing so.. the chamber door will open, thus completing the puzzle.
Now for a real world example:
