Favorite music- wut.

So this girl in my class, on her facebook page she lists the following music groups under her "Favorite Music" section (among others).

Owl City. Nickelback. Ke$ha. Lady GaGa.

AND THEN SHE HAS THE loving GUMPTION to post the following bands on THE SAME PAGE.

Aerosmith. Guns N' Roses. The Beatles. BOB loving MARLEY. Bon Jovi. Journey. Queen.

For some reason this rubs me the wrong way. She's got a band that changed rock 'n roll and the way we think about music along side singer who's most recent hit was called "blah blah blah". She's got a singer/songwriter/guitarist who wrote inspired, transcendental music that spread Jamaican music all over the world with a singer who's most recent chart-topper included the lyrics "Rah-rah-ah-ah-ah Roma-Roma ma-ah Ga-ga-ooh-la-la Want your bad romance".

I mean come on. She's got six bands that get brought up in "Greatest band ever" discussions frequently listed along with the embodiment of auto-tune, a band that makes albums with copy+paste, a slut that says she has empowering lyrics for women and... well, Lady Gaga.

Am I overreacting?

Whaaaaaaaa someone likes music you don't. Sounds kind of like an attempt to get some eCred by raging against someone about a subject you know everyone would agree with. You might as well have went to a kool kids klub meeting and told them you met a guy that loves mondays, or went to a pub and told everyone you met a guy that hates alcohol.
