Here's a simple way of looking at it:
The bible is false.  The things it states are false, because of several basic contradictions, which disprove the concept of the god being "perfect." (see: http://godisimaginary.com/ )

With that, if god isn't perfect, and you're only supposed to listen to this perfect god's teachings (which is a must-do according to the bible), then you're following paradox.

This is what it all leads into: if a story from the bible comes true, then it's coincidence, or it was just documented in the bible.  Even more so, if we ever see a god, I can assure that, if the bible is true to christianity, then it will not be the christian god.  However, if it is, then the bible is simpley false.  It is impossible; you cannot have a certain amount of something greater than that of which is smaller.

Do mind you, though, not every Christian fully believes in the Bible, nor does every Christian interpret it the same way. And the Bible does not speak for all religions, a Divine Bing is depicted in many different ways. And also mind you, Faith can exist without religion.

I somewhat believe in this too. We get so worked up over religion, religious wars and what not, but for all we know we could just be some experiment made by a super-intelligent life-form outside of our consciousness.

The first books of the Bible were actually compiled around 1,500 B.C.

The Apostle Paul with his followers and peers wrote down the teachings of Jesus Christ about 95 years after his death. The Bible was written over a span of many centuries. Unless your speaking specifically about the New Testament.

First of all, no religion is a "fake" religion. A religion is the worship of a superhuman controlling power or a particular system of faith or worship. Calling a religion a "fake" religion is similar to calling someones opinion a "fake" opinion.

You obviously must not have clicked the link because it was a conspiracy theory against Christianity. It claimed the Christianity was a fake religion and listed reasons why. I was simply responding to that website, and that guy more specifically. So no, my post was not irrelevant. Same goes for you Lalam, click the link in your own topic.

Religion, as you should know, was created to explain the unexplainable at the time; volcanoes, earthquakes, etc. But the world has gone through many different religions:

Catholic/Christian, Hebrew, Muslim, Buddhism, or Mormon

Now, these are mostly modern religions, still practiced and believed in today, some of the earlier ones were the Greeks and the Romans. As I said, all of these religions were attempts to explain the unexplainable.

Now with modern science, we are able to explain most of the things that religion was created for. Thus, today there is much more atheism, but that is not the point.

What I was pondering was the different religion levels in humanity. When we were a young species, we could barely explain what made the sky roar and the trees sway. So we created multiple gods to explain every little thing. Then we started getting more technologically advanced, able to explain more things, so religions reverted to a one god "theory" if you will. So as humanity progressed through the ages, and with the enlightment, you could argue that religion has formed or changed to fit the scientific establishment of the time. Such as, the Greeks believed one of their gods, Poseidon, or the Roman, Neptune, controlled the sea and earthquakes. But as a Catholic/Christian, do you believe that "God" controls those? Or do you accept scientific fact that the sea is controlled by the celestial bodies, the wind, and other Earthly features?

So, in summary, I believe as a "Non-Believer" or an "Atheist", that religions of all sorts are not technically related to science, but are, as I said, formed by it.

......Ah ha! Here we go:

Athiests say the earlier Christians said that everything that happened because of God because they didn't know how things worked. Like rain. But listen to this. God might not give rain directly but he can control the factors of what causes rain.

Example:
5 x 4 = 20

5 and 4 are factors. 20 is the outcome, or rain in this case. 5 and 4 control what the outcome is.

The earlier Christians ma have believed that God only gives and outcome, but he controls the factors. He manipulates them. Only in this case the equations is very long and complex. When he created the Earth he knew what was going to happen and had it all planned out. When it was going to rain, and he knew that at a specific time someone will ask for rain and before that happened he already planned to either give it immediately, make them wait, or not to give it to them at all.
