1.) Shields are made from 3 metals, the base, the emblem, and the edge, there is no wooden component.
2.) The emblem and edge of the shield have no effect on its properties, or at least not much.
3.) He's right about swords.
4.) Plut is the best bow, I don't know if woods actually influence the properties.

Lead - Bounce
Copper - Freeze
Gold - Gold Drop

I have had a brass shield, I don't remember it doing anything, although I have heard rumors that zinc confuses.

Ya, I might have them flipped around. I had both and know one confuses and one does nothing.

Sadly I gave all my stuff away 3 months ago and havn't played since.

For how long though? I know copper only freezes for about half a second, which makes it not nearly as useful as lead.

sooooo if a monster is hiting me and i have my sheild up GOLD beautiful gold will apear in the air then sudonly drop due to gravity?
